MINISTRY TO THE CHURCH
COG SMALL GROUPS
A small group of people meet regularly to grow deeper in their relationship with one another and with Christ. Each group is held in the relaxed atmosphere of someone’s home. Various study topics are introduced each fall.
DINNERS FOR EIGHT
Though this ministry eight people gather together over a four-month period to enjoy fellowship over a meal. They take turns hosting and bringing a dish to share. Sign-ups begin in the spring.
A ministry to greet and welcome arrivals as they enter church on Sunday morning.
HOME SCHOOL OVERSIGHT
Qualified teachers are available to offer guidance to COG church families involved in home schooling.
Our meal ministry seeks to love one another by providing meals during times of illness, childbirth, or other circumstances where members or regular attenders need practical support through meal preparation.
Men of Grace equips men to build authentic relationships and serve others in a Christ-like manner. They meet together for monthly breakfasts, small group studies, golf outings, conferences, retreats, and more.
PHOTO VIDEO MINISTRY
Images can play a strong role in communicating Covenant of Grace’s mission and vision. Individuals involved in the Photo Video Ministry seek to use their creative talents by providing photos or/and videos of church-related events for various print or web publications.
This ministry seeks to care for our church body by praying for one another. Prayer requests are submitted to the church office and shared with those committed to praying for the needs requested. Prayers are shared regularly through email or, in an emergency, through our automated phone message system. Our weekly Sunday morning worship program also includes a time of prayer for one another.
A ministry that partners with the youth ministry to provide encouragement for parents and opportunities for families to spend time together serving others.
RIGHT NOW MEDIA
Our church membership to RightNow Media gives COGs congregation instant access to a vast library of online Bible study videos, kids shows and more.
Stephen Ministers equips laypersons to provide confidential, distinctively Christian one-to-one care and to those who are experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and community.
Sunday School classes are offered at 9:15 am before the worship service. Several classes covering a variety of topics are available each quarter.
Deacons organize this ministry that provides assistance for widows in our church with such things as simple home repairs, yard work, financial advice, transportation, or other minor needs as they arise.
Women’s ministry is designed to equip women to grow, serve, and have fellowship with one another. Fellowship and growth opportunities are available through Bible Studies, ladies’ Sunday School classes, teas, luncheons, retreats, and more.
MINISTRY TO THE WORLD
Through our involvement in Missions to the World (MTW) and other organizations, we support and encourage missionary families in over 10 countries around the world.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Each year our congregation collects and prepares shoe boxes full of assorted gifts for children to be delivered throughout the world by Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, the international Christian relief organization led by Franklin Graham
THE COVENANT ADULT CHOIR
This is a dynamic ministry involving 35 plus members and regular attenders. The Adult Choir sings weekly from September through May, including performing in our annual Christmas and Easter musical presentations. Rehearsals are held weekly on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm. Ages 9th grade through adult are welcome.
THE COVENANT MUSIC TEAM
These 4 specialized teams of musicians perform weekly year round, leading in worship. The music performed by these skilled vocalists and musicians is reflective of the more contemporary music of our day and adds another dimension to our blended worship style.
THE COVENANT BELL CHOIR
The Covenant Bell Choir provides a beautiful musical addition to our service. The 8 bell ringers play several times a year including special services such as Christmas, Palm Sunday and Easter. Rehearsals are held weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm.
THE YOUTH BELL CHOIR
The Youth Bell is a new addition to our Music Ministry at Covenant. This ministry is for kids Elementary through Middle School. The vision is for them to play for worship several times a year. Rehearsals are scheduled for Sundays, immediately following worship.
MINISTRY TO THE COMMUNITY
BELLES OF GRACE
Belles of Grace is a hand bell choir that visits retirement centers to perform encouraging music for residents.
We collect and donated items for area homeless shelters and pregnancy centers.
ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES
Our ESOL ministry provides adults whose primary language is not English with basic conversational speaking skills. Instruction is provided by trained volunteers. ESOL meets weekly September – December and March – May.
Our First Responders ministry seeks to reach out to Baltimore County Police and Fire Departments at our local Franklin Station by offering support through prayer, friendship, and sharing the love of Christ with our first Responder neighbors.
This ministry encourages military service members and their families.
Covenant of Grace periodically holds special Sundays that feature specific ministries or needs. Special Sundays include Scout Sunday, Youth Sunday, Missions Sunday, Graduation Sunday, International Sunday, Compassion Sunday, and/or more.
MEALS FROM HOME
Meals from Home is a ministry that provides homemade casseroles and desserts to Baltimore’s Helping Up Mission.Volunteers sometimes assist in serving meals. The Helping Up Mission provides hope and care to people experiencing homelessness, poverty and/or addiction.
Our Mercy Needs ministry assists those in our church and community with financial needs through the Deacon’s Fund. The Mercy Needs Team meets regularly to prayerfully consider requests and consult our guidelines.
MINISTRY TO THE NATION
Our Hands of Grace Ministry works through our denomination’s Mission to North America (MNA) Disaster Response agency to provide hands-on help and support to PCA church communities in disaster affected areas. Volunteers from Covenant annually give one week of their time to travel to disaster affected areas where they assist in clean up and rebuilding of the affected area.
We help support and encourage over 10 organizations/individuals who minister locally and throughout the U.S.
