Witnessing and Assurance Memory Verse U

“The Word became flesh and lived for a while among us.”  John 1:14

Commentary:  I can’t begin to explain the enormity of the significance of this verse, but two things are most apparent.  First, that the second person of the Trinity, the Son of God, would condescend to put on flesh and live in a human body.  And secondly, that having taken on our full humanity, would be willing to live as one of us, even living amoung us.  The degree of humility and love demonstrated in the incarnation of Jesus Christ is truly beyond comprehension.  Yet, this proves as is so much the case, that our God is much greater, much more mysterious, much more gracious and loving than our minds could ever conceive.

May this verse cause us to stop and worship our Savior God with reverence and awe.

Prayer:  Dear Jesus, words could never express my thankfulness for your condescending love.  That you would leave the riches of heaven to bring about my salvation is overwhelming.  But although I cannot fully understand why you loved me so much, I believe it and give you my praise and thanksgiving for giving your life for me.

In your name I pray Jesus, Amen.
