“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12
Commentary: Sin makes us accountable to God’s wrath – God’s judicial punishment. Psalm 103:12 describes for us in graphic terms that God views us without any sin at all when he sees us through the righteousness of Christ. To be in the presence of a perfect and holy God we must have our sins removed. This is a work that only God can do. Through faith in God’s Son, our sins are atoned for, covered by the blood of Jesus. God does not see our sin but sees the righteousness of Christ. We are washed by the blood of the lamb, we are cleansed through the loving gift of Christ’s sacrifice.
Our sins are removed as far as the east is from the west – totally and completely apart, never to come together.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, It is so wonderful that you do not count my sins against me because they are too numerous to count. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the knowledge that my sins and the guilt they deserve are removed by the blood of Jesus Christ who is my Savior.
Let me live each day knowing that my sins do not prevent me from having a relationship with you and that because I have Christ’s righteousness I am your child forever.
Thank You In Jesus’ name, Amen.
