“I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16
Commentary: So many Christians do not share their faith. Although they trust Jesus as their Savior, they are often reluctant to speak of Him to others.
The Apostle says, “I am not ashamed of the gospel” and neither should we. As we reflect on the gospel’s impact on our lives, it is the power of new life, the power of growth, and the power of change. The gospel contains power in it just like new life has power stored in it. Satan would have us hide our light under a bushel and act as if we were ashamed of our new life in Christ. May we remember that in the good news of the gospel comes the power to change and do the will of the one who gave us new life in Christ.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, Help me to remember that I am not alone and that I am not powerless. The gospel came into me and made me a new creature in Christ. May I seek to trust in the power inherent in the good news and not shrink back from opportunities to share the source of my life with others. In the strong name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
